Inbound Day Tour Programme

This program is a sample of what can be easily operated from Sydney, being only a two hour drive to the Hunter Valley.

It can vary depending on times of arrival and departure, what outcome is required, and the budget.

Groups of varying sizes can be catered for in a number of configurations. One coach of course is simple, however more than that needs careful consideration to ensure effectiveness and enjoyment for Customers.

  • 8:30am: Depart Sydney

  • 10:30am: Arrive in the Hunter Valley and visit our first winery for a tasting, and perhaps some Wine Evaluation games to test the senses. Our first tasting will focus on wines that the Hunter Valley is famous for; Semillon – regarded as the best in the world, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Verdelho. Cheese and biscuits, or a morning tea of scones, jam and cream, with coffee or tea on arrival.

  • 12:00am: Arrive at our second winery, chosen for either an onsite restaurant, or their ability to host a group with an experienced caterer. Lunch will be accompanied by a range of this company’s wines, which will be presented over lunch by the Winemaker or Cellarmaster. A Wine Options Game will test the knowledge and skills of visitors – though inevitably the prize is won by a good guessing novice!

  • 1:45pm: Our third winery is chosen for having a full wine production facility which a group can tour and learn more about how a wine is produced from its commencement as a humble bunch of grapes! Following the tour, we move to the Private Tasting Room for a further tasting of the Hunter Valleys premium wines. Try some of the Hunter Valleys emerging alternative varieties such as Viognier, Tempranillo, Sangiovese or Pinto Gris.

  • 3:15pm/5:30pm: Depart the Hunter Valley for a late afternoon arrival back in Sydney.

Notes

When more than one bus, different wineries would be used for pre and post lunch visits. All groups would/could come together for lunch, with our largest venue catering for up to 500, and collective venues catering for up to 1,500. Hunter Valley Events knows every relevant venue in the Hunter, along with which winery, and their Winemaker/Vigneron/Cellar Master will work best with the outcomes required for each individual group. Our tours are individually designed and can be escorted by an English speaking expert in the Hunter Valley wine region.
